plentiful.
Introduction.
It all begins in your heart and mind. Your very attitude
concerning money must be changed first of all. Selfish desire for money spent
for self-satisfaction shall be changed into joyful giving to others – giving to
the family, the poor, to the spreading of the gospel by all means, tithing and
giving to Gods house with joy.
Spend your money after the will of God. Let Holy Spirit
guide you WHEN and WHERE to spend your money. Do not invest in the temporary,
invest in eternity.
Avoid buying unnecessary things.
Do not spend money in self-gratification, but only to
cover need.
Spend LESS money than you earn.
Avoid debt.
Prosperity concerns many aspects of life: financially –
spiritually – physically – mentally – emotionally.
1. Should Christians prosper?
God created all the wealth of this earth. Did He create
it for unbelievers, for hardhearted, sinful men and women who curse Him, deny
Him and disobey His laws? Does He really want them to prosper and His children
to do without? Of course not. God our Father wants all the best for His
children, the born again believers, the Christians.
If our heavenly Father was willing to give us His only
Son. He has already given us the best and He is now more than willing to give
us all the rest. Romans. 8:32 He that spared not His own son, but delivered HIM
up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.
2. Jesus Christ – poor or
wealthy?
Was Jesus poor?
No! – By Him and to Him all things are created. Col.1:
16 …all things were created by HIM and for Him.
He owned the whole world and He still does.
2.Cor. 8:9.Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became
poor that through His poverty you become rich.
3. Gods prescription for
prosperity.
Many of us have accepted Jesus as Saviour, but we never
truly allowed Jesus to be Lord over every area of our lives.
Our Father wants us to surrender our lives totally to
HIM. He does not want us to put family, money, hobbies or anything else ahead
of Him. Exodus 20:3. You shall have no other Gods before me....
God’s laws of prosperity will only work to the degree
that we keep Him first in our lives.
God does not want us to be destroyed in selfish desire.
That’s the reason why God always demands the first priority. Always keep God
first – Mt 6:33 seek first the
4. Gods way or the world’s way?
The Worlds way – or Gods way?
God wants us to repent and renew our minds to think in
Gods ways on prosperity.
Christians who wants prosperity in the world’s way will
end up in "prosperity theology."
Christians who wants prosperity in Gods way will honour
God with their finances.
It is very important that we understand the idea, that
God owns all the silver and gold in the World, and we own nothing and that God
just let us "use" things.
Haggai 2:8 the silver is mine and the gold is mine, says
the Lord of hosts.
Do not say: "My possessions belongs to me, I earned
them." For God says in Deuteronomy 8:17-18 and you say in your heart:
"my power and the might of mine hand has gotten me this wealth. Verse 18:
but you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is HE that gives you power to
get wealth. That He may establish His covenant He swore to your fathers.
The world’s way to gain wealth is to trust in my own
power, Gods way is to trust Him.
Mark 10:24. How hard it is for them that trust in riches
to enter into the
The key word here is "trust in riches" instead
of trust in God. The rich young man loved (trusted) more in his money than he
loved (trusted) God.
God’s law of prosperity requires of us to trust in HIM
instead of trust in riches.
God’s ways are diametrically opposed to the world’s
ways. Instead of trusting in worldly riches our Father wants us to trust in Him
and to share what we have with others.
1.Timothy 6:17-18 Charge them that are rich in this
world, that they be not high-minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the
living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy that they do good that they
be rich in good works ready to DISTRIBUTE...
Ecclesiastes 5:13 there is a sore evil, which I have
seen under the sun, namely riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
Accumulation of money is wrong and will at last hurt us.
Also hoarding is wrong, hoarding of food, gasoline,
money etc. This will expose our fear and shows that we do not trust in God.
God’s laws of prosperity will show us exactly how to
"profit" during times of economic crisis.
Isaiah 48:17 I am the Lord your God which teaches you to
profit...
Now it is time to quit the old ways of the world trusting
in bank accounts, investments, real estate, pension, profit sharing plans,
insurance, etc. And begin to do it in Gods way and following His laws of
prosperity.
Riches gained after the worlds system will never
satisfy. The more we get the more we want.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loves silver shall not be
satisfied with silver, nor he that loves abundance with increase, this is also
vanity.
5. God wants us to change our
attitude to money, renew our minds. Romans. 12:2.
God wants us to think in HIS ways in money matters.
6. How do we change and renew
our minds?
God’s laws of renewal: study the bible, meditation and
prayer, exercising faith, confession of sins, and obedience to Holy Spirit and
the word of God..
7. Gods perspective on work and
discipline.
God wants us to work – and to be good at it.
One of the fruits of the Spirit is self-discipline. One
must learn the lesson to have self-discipline in spending money. We are not
supposed to live a life in luxury just because we are Christians and have a
very, very rich Father in heaven.
8. We reap what we sow.
Prosperity in relation to sow and reap – natural seed –
love – faith – money – goodness – friendship – knowledge – wisdom. The law of
sowing and reaping works in every aspect of life.
Sow your good seed of money in good soil, that is, in
the mission field, to the poor, etc.
Gal. 6:7.... Whatsoever a man sows, that he also shall
reap.
Amazingly, people expect to harvest a lot of money
without sowing a little tiny seed-corn. They think prayer is enough, but this
is breaking the law of God. If you want to harvest money you must sow MONEY,
not prayer in this case. If you want to harvest much money you must sow MUCH
money, not much praying for money. By the way, we should pray much and all the time
for the lost and needy. This is a very simple way of making money, give money
with gladness, as the Holy Spirit leads you. Seek His guidance and you will sow
your seed of money at the right place at the right time, and the right amount.
Remember also to sow: love – goodness – even the word of
God – all kinds of good seed.
Sow your good seed of money to the mission field, to
your church, to the poor, to your family, etc.
9. The blessing of tithing.
There is no direct command in the New Testament on tithing!
God lets us TEST HIM and promises enormous blessings IF
WE DO!
Malachi 3:10 Bring yea all the tithes into the
storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and PROVE me now here with, says
the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you
out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
God challenges us to prove HIM. It is the only place in
the bible where God challenges us to PROVE Him.
We honour God by giving Him the first 10% of our income.
It is impossible for God to bless His children if we rob
God of the tithing. The bible tells us the first tenth belongs to Him.
What you give as a gift for some special purpose is not
tithing but is given BESIDES the tithing.
IN MINE HOUSE means bringing your tithing to your local
church.
TESTIMONY: During the time I was
pasturing a church, a good friend of mine came to me one day with a check,
35.000 Dkr. This relatively big amount he wanted to give to the church as
“sowing seed.” At that time he was actually in great financial troubles. His
auditor had strongly warned him not to make this transaction. As a non-believer
he thought the money would be lost, and he did not believe in this spiritual sowing
and reaping business. Bible says: “you reap as you sow.”
10. We cannot out give God
Acts 10:14. …And he (the angel) said to him (Cornelio)
"Your prayers and your ALMS are come up for a memorial before God.
Mark 9:41 for whosoever shall give you a cup of water to
drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall
not lose his reward.
11. Giving - Gods way.
Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto
your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete withal it shall be measured
to you again. Luke 6:38
12.God’s laws on receiving.
God gives us in such a way that our souls are not hurt.
James 4:3 and when you ask you do not receive it,
because your motives are bad, you ask for things to consume it upon your lusts.
13. Gods laws on banking and
investments.
Matthew 6:20 but lay up for yourself treasures in heaven
where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through
nor steal. V.21 for where your treasure is, there will your heart be
also.
Proverbs 19:17. When you give to the poor, it is like
lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.
14. Applying God’ s laws on
prosperity.
Look up scriptures in bible on prosperity - act in
faith.
15. Causes of poverty,
undeveloped and poor nations, and poor individuals.
a) Occultism.
b) Defiled homes.
c) Idol worship, all kind of in Eastern culture –
western culture.
d) Driven by demon of lust, alcohol, narcotics, etc.
e) Laziness.
The higher percentage of confessing Christians in a
country the more wealth and order in that same country. The more dominance of
-isms and idolatry the more poverty and disorder and corruption in that same
country.
Trust God for your finances.
Have trust in God’s laws of sowing and reaping – His
laws of tithing – giving (offering) – and His laws of receiving.
