the third person in the trinity:
a) We are baptised in the NAME of the Father, the Son
and the Holy Ghost. Matthew. 28:19
We are baptised in the name of the three DIVINE PERSONS
in the trinity.
Scripture teaches that three divine persons are ONE GOD.
b) Genesis 1:26 Let US make man in OUR image….
In the Hebrew text the plural form is used. All three
divine individuals were present in the creation process: Yahweh the Father,
Yeshua the Messiah and God the Holy Spirit.
3. Holy Spirit as a person:
See also: Advocate, speak, testify, voice, sorrow,
grief, convince, guide, conduct, teach, remind, comfort. These are all
attributes to the divine being (person) we call the Holy Spirit.
In John 16. Here the Holy Spirit is mentioned several
times as HE, as a male person.
4.Holy Spirit, purpose and
duty of the Holy Spirit:
His task is to: Convince, rebirth, teach, guide, equip,
call, testify, conduct, remind, comfort, educate, make skilled, sanctify,
anoint, enlighten, renew, revive, drive, baptise, fill.
Romans 5:5 … because the love of God is shed abroad in
our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.
The Holy Spirit also pure out divine love in mans
hearts. He creates, He heals, and He performs miracles. He is the forthcoming
power from God Yahweh.
He, the Holy Spirit, prays IN us and THROUGH us, UNTO
God.
5. Holy Spirit as Comforter

the comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
He shall teach you
All things and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
6. The Holy Spirit and
the nine gifts of the Spirit.
1: Speaking in tongues
2: Interpretation of tongues.
3: Gift of prophecy (6 ways to judge prophesy)
4: Word of knowledge.
5: The word of wisdom.
6: Discerning of spirits
7: The gift of healing(s)
8: Gift of the working of miracles
9: The gift of faith.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the beginning of administrating the 9 gifts of the Spirit.
There are: 3
vocal gifts 3 revelation gifts and 3 power
gifts.
Speaking
in tongues Word of knowledge Gift of healing(s)
Gift
of prophecy Word of wisdom Gift of the working of miracles
Interpretation
of tongues Discerning of spirits Gift of faith
Speaking in other tongues
Acts 2:
When speaking in tongues, the mind, intellect and
understanding are at rest.
The Holy Spirit is only using the human speech organs,
not the brain or intellect.
The utterance is entirely supernatural.
There are diverse kinds of speaking in tongues. (Many
languages)
The purpose of speaking in tongues:
1: Speaking in tongues is the scriptural evidence of the
Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:46)
2: That man may speak supernaturally to God. (1.
Corinthians.14: 2)
3: That believers may magnify God. (Acts 10:46)
4: That we may edify ourselves. (1. Corinthians. 14:49)
5: That we edify ourselves by singing in the spirit.
(Colossians 3: 16)
6: That our Spirit, distinct from our understanding, might
pray. (1.Corinthians 14: 14)
7: That with the gift of interpretation of tongues the
church may be edified. (1.Corinthians 14: 12, 13, 5, 26.)
8: Tongues as a sign to them that believe not.
1.Corinthians 14:22
Interpretation of tongues.
Interpretation of tongues is entirely supernatural, a
miraculous utterance.
It is strongly related to the gift of speaking in
tongues.
Some few considerations of some frequent repeated
questions:
1: Interpretation is not translating. Translating is
word for word. Interpretation is giving the meaning.
Interpretation can be parabolic, pictorial, descriptive
or literal.
2: The temperament, natural gifts and training, as well
as the nationality of the possessor of the gift, will influence the
interpretation, but the gift is not for that reason less supernatural.
3: Those who speak in other tongues are expressly
instructed to pray for this further gift. (1.Corinthians 14: 13)
4: Let one interpret. (1.Corinthians 14.27)
5: Giving a message in other tongues and interpreting
oneself can be practised.
6: The scripture tells us to give no more than three
messages in one meeting. (1.Corinthians.14: 27)
Prophecy.
Greek: profemi = to speak out, to foretell, to predict.
Greek: profetes = prophet.
To prophecy: to speak for another, to be Gods spokesman.
Prophecy in its simplest form is divinely inspired and
anointed utterance. It is supernatural.
There is a difference between the gift of prophecy and
the ministry of the prophet.
The prophet as an office speaks to cities, or nations or
the whole world. The gift of prophecy is more likely used to persons and
congregations.
The purpose of prophecy:
1: Prophecy is for speaking unto men supernaturally
(1.Corinthians 14: 3)
2: To edify the church - the body of believers. (1.Corinthians
14: 4)
3: To exhort the church (1.Corinthians 14:3) exhortation
does not mean rebuke!
4: To comfort the church. (1.Corinthians 14:3, 31)
5: That believers may "learn" (1.Corinthians
14:31)
6: To convict the unbeliever and make manifest the
secrets of his heart. (1.Corinthians 14: 24, 25)
Further questions about use and control:
A: We are expressly commanded to desire this particular
gift (1.Corinthians 14:1)
B: Prophecy is greater than tongues when not accompanied
with interpretation of tongues – if the message is interpreted they are equal
in value.
C: Though prophecy is clear to the understanding it is
not speaking with the understanding. It is the Spirit of God speaking through
human speech organs.
D: A believer may get the gift of prophecy (or any other
gift) at his baptism in the Holy Spirit in addition to the speaking in tongues
(Acts 19:6)
E: The gift is not to take the place of the written word
of God, as prophecy is fallible. God’s word is infallible.
F: The written word is our only infallible guide. Every
prophecy that is in contradiction to the word of God we can repudiate, reject
without fear.
G: The possessor of the gift is responsible for its use,
misuse, suppression or control.
The Spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet.
(1.Corinthians 14: 32)
H.: Paul also
says, no more than three prophecies must be given in one meeting.
(1.Corinthians 14: 29) and let the others judge.
J: Prophetic messages sometimes may be mystical and not
fully understood. (The oil flowing to the west coast of

K.: It takes faith to prophecy. (...Whether prophecy,
let us prophecy according to the proportion of faith. Romans 12.6)
Where you should not seek information of your future
life:
Horoscopes, Fortune-teller, Soothsayer, Cards, Tarot
cards, etc.
The word of knowledge.
The word of knowledge is the supernatural revelation by
the Holy Spirit of certain facts in the mind of God.
It is not a vocal gift. It is a gift of revelation. It
becomes vocal of course when shared to others.
It is fragments of divine knowledge. The word of
knowledge concerns the past or present, it is not concerning the future as word
of wisdom does.
Divine purpose:
1: To warn a king of an enemy’s plan of destruction.
(2.Kings 6: 9-12)
2: To enlighten and encourage a discouraged servant of
the Lord. (1. Kings 19: 14-18)
3: To expose a hypocrite (2.Kings 5. 20-27)
4: To convince a sinner of the need of a saviour (John
6: 18, 19. 29.)
5: To discover a man in hiding (1. Samuel 10: 22)
6: To indicate a man in need (Acts 9: 11)
7: To reveal corruption in the church (Acts 5: 3)
8: To indicate a suitable place for a meeting of Gods
people (Mark 14: 34-37)
9: To know men’s thoughts (John2: 24) (1. Samuel 9: 19)
10: The word of knowledge can mightily aid in effectual
prayer either for Gods servants in distress or for those in need of spiritual
help. (The missionary dying in the village in Africa)
11: To recover lost persons or property.
12: To reveal the causes of sickness or demon
possession.
The Word of Wisdom.
It is Gods wisdom not men’s.
The word of Wisdom may be manifested through the audible
divine voice. It may also be manifested by angelic visitation, by dream or
vision, or through the spiritual gift of prophecy, or tongues and
interpretation.
Wisdom is concerning the future.
Some scripture examples:
1: To warn and guide people concerning future judgement
or peril. (Genesis 6: 13-22 and God said to Noah)
2: To reveal Gods plans to those He is going to use.
(Genesis 41: 16, 28-41 Pharaoh - Joseph)
3: To assure a servant of God of his divine commission.
(Exodus 3:10 Moses send to Pharaoh)
4: To reveal acceptable order and manner of divine
worship. Exodus 25 (The outlook of the tabernacle revealed to Moses)
5: To unfold to a prejudiced sectarian Gods universal
offers of grace. (Acts 10: 9-16)
6: To assure of coming deliverance in the midst of
calamity. ( Acts 27:24 fear not Paul you shall stand before for the Emperor.)
7: To give assurance of blessing to come. (Genesis
23:10-15 )
In modern time:

A: A word of wisdom to warn of approaching
danger.
B: To make known or confirm a missionary call.

C: To reveal the future.
D: To give personal guidance.
Discerning of spirits.
Discerning of spirits gives supernatural insight into
the secret realm of spirits.
The present day use of the gift is the same as in the
bible:
1: To help in delivering the afflicted, oppressed, and
tormented. (Mark 5:5
the gerazene man.)
Evil spirits is able to cause mental disease,
infirmities and a thousand of other diseases.
2: To discover a servant of the devil. (Acts 13:9-10)
Elymas
3: To aid in checking the plans of the adversary. (Acts
16:16 Paul discerns a spirit of divination.)
4: To expose plausible errors. (Doctrines of devils and
damnable heresies. 1.Tim 6:1, 2.Peter2: 1)
5: To unmask demon miracle-workers. (2Thess 2:9 the
wicked one will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false
miracles and wonders.)
Gifts of Healing(s)
This is supernatural healing alone by the Holy Spirit,
without any medical, surgical or manipulative or scientific helps or ability.
Some Christians like to say:" God is also using the doctors." Yes He
does, but NOT concerning the gifts of healing, ONLY the Holy Spirit is at work
here. Doctors are still the world’s way of healing.
Gifts of healing works by faith and by the laying on of
hands of the believer or simply believing prayer.
Faith: the sin of unbelief is not concerning failure of
healing - but relates to the sin of not believing in Jesus Christ as Son of
God.
The gifts of healings are written in plural in the
original text.
These are:
1: Healing of sickness in the body.
2: Healing of deformities.
3: Healing of the emotions, and healing of memories.
4: Healing of the mind, lunatic, retardation etc.
5: Healing by creative miracles.
6: Healing by anointing with oil.
7: Healing by a cloth anointed with oil.
8: Healing following exorcism.
In addition there are:
9: Natural healing energy in the body)
10:Healing through fasting.
11: Healing through God sending His word for healing, as
answer to prayer. (Psalm 107:20)
Healing through medicine and surgery is the world’s way,
not Gods way of healing.
Healing through fasting is not healing by use of the gifts
of healing, yet it is using the natural ability of the body to self cleanse and
self restore and thus obtain natural health.
Some examples from the scripture for better
understanding:
a) First of all the gift of healings are to deliver the
sick and destroy the works of the devil in the human body.
Some scripture examples:
Matt.8.2-4 (Luke. 5:12-16) Jesus heals the leprosy.
Matt.9: 1-8 (Luke. 5:17-26) Jesus heals the arthritis
lame man.
Matt. 9:27-31. Two blind men healed.
Matt. 14:34-36 Jesus is healing many.
Matt. 9:18-26 (Mk. 5.21-43) The woman with the blood
issues.
b) Divine healing is not the same as deliverance
from evil spirits.
Some examples of healing after deliverance of evil
spirits, because evil spirits frequently causes many kinds of diseases:
Matt. 9.32-
Matt. 15.21-28. Jesus heals the Syrian little child with
a vexing evil spirit.
Matt. 17.14-21. The lunatic boy.
Luke. 13:10-17. There was a woman which had a spirit of
infirmity eighteen years and was bowed together and could in no wise lift up
herself.
c) To establish Jesus’ astonishing claims:
John 10.37-38. If I do not the works of my Father,
believe me not. V.38 But if I do, though you believe not me, BELIEVE THE WORKS,
that you may know and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.
d) To authorise the gospel message preached by Gods
servants:
Everybody will know today, when blind see, the sick are
healed, demons cast out, all in Jesus wonderful name, everybody knows that
Jesus is ALIVE, and risen from the dead.
e) To draw on people to come to Christ, to attract them
to come and hear the Gospel.
Everybody who has seen multitudes outside of the meeting
hall, waiting for the meeting to start, waiting for there turn to be healed, is
it not these gifts of supernatural healings, that motivates them to come to a
meeting, and many others with them?
f) To turn people to God:
Peter in Lydda. Acts 9:33-35. And there he found a certain man named Æneas, which
had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of palsy. V.34 and Peter said unto
him, Æneas, Jesus Christ makes you whole, arise, and make thy bed. And he arose
immediately. V.35 and all that dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and turned
to the Lord
g) To convince unbelievers of the truth of Gods Word.
Nothing is more impressive and expressive to the
unbeliever, than miraculous healings, which we can’t deny or ignore.
h) To bring glory to God, Hallelujah:
And the people rejoiced for all the glories things that
were done by Him. Mk 2:12 Lk.13: 17.
i) To inspire faith and courage in Gods people:
When the evangelist praying for the sick and they are
healed, we all are inspired to greater faith and we feel inclined to take
courage and do the same.
Anointing with oil (James 5:14) is not through the
operation of the healing gifts of the Spirit, but in response to obedience and
in answer to believing prayer.
Elders and ministers perform the anointing in oil.
The pastor is leading elder.
The laying on of hands is not only for those who have
the gifts of the spirit, but it is an act of faith for everybody and to
everybody.
While anointing with oil is for sick believers only.
Why is not everybody healed?
There were a lot of sick people around the pool of
Bethesda - only one got healed - and that by the most competent, Jesus Christ.
We suppose Jesus would have healed every one of them, but He did not, for many
unknown reasons.
It is written: because of there unbelief in that town,
Jesus could not perform any miracles or healings there. Matt. 13:58 and He did
not many mighty miracles there, because of there unbelief.
Sometimes unforgiving is the reason why people are not
healed in spite of much and earnest prayer.
Sometimes occult practice is blocking.
Sometimes broken wove are a hindrance
Sometimes disobedience in our lives is the reason.
Sometimes idolatry has totally broken our relationship
with God.
Maybe most often the cause is simple unbelief, neglect
of believing God’s word as it is written.
Where you should not seek healing:
Zonetherapi - Acupuncture - Hypnosis - Pendulum -
Homeopathic - copper arm rings - means of protection against radiation from the
underground - mesmerism - Healers that do not heal in Jesus name - Witchdoctors
- Black and white magic - etc.
The working of Miracles.
Definition: A miracle is a supernatural intervention in
the ordinary course of nature. A miracle is a sovereign act of the Spirit of
God. It is a temporary suspension of the natural laws
It cannot be explained except it is Gods power at work.
The gift of miracles is a power gift.
All healing of the human body, even deformities and
fractures - even creative miracles comes from the gift of healings, because it
is happening in the human body. This will not be the working of miracles.
The difference between the gift of faith and the gift of
miracles is: Miracles do happen immediately and in a spectacular way, while
gift of faith works over a long period of time and frequently less spectacular
but it is still the most powerful of all the power gifts.
Some scriptures of the gift in use:
The gift was used for the miraculous deliverance of Gods
people out of the hand of the enemy.
Exodus 14:16. Moses lifted rod caused the water standing
like a wall on both sides, when crossing the Red Sea, until the Israelites had
passed through, even until the Egyptian army was in the midst of the water, and
the wheels of the wagons were supernatural locked, they couldn’t turn around.
The sea fell back over their heads and the whole army destroyed. Many miracles
took place here.
To provide for those in want.
Exodus 14. Moses once again lifted the rod and out of
the rock came floods of water, enough to quench the thirst of 1.5 mill
Israelites in the desert. Forever here after reminding us, Jesus is our rock.
Mark 6:36-37 Jesus performs a miracle in feeding the
multitude, indeed a miracle.

To carry out divine judgements and disciplines:
The ten plagues of Egypt were ten miracles, to
discipline, to give the last chances to Pharaoh, that he might repent and let
Gods people go. He didn’t, but he got the chance.
To confirm the preached word.
Acts 13:11-12 which doctrines were right, Elymas´
or Paul’s. A miracle left the evil Elymas in total darkness, blinded for a
season and Paul's words were trusted and believed.
To deliver in unavoidable situations of danger.
Matt. 13:23 Jesus stills the storm on the Lake of
Galilee.
To raise the dead.
The widow’s son, Lazarus, Tabitha.
To display Gods power and magnificence:
The rumours of Jesus performing miracles made
people glorify and give honour to God.
John. 4:48. Then said Jesus unto him: except you
see signs and wonders, you will not believe
Luke. 1:5. The dumbness of Zechariah. V.64 and he’s
mouth were opened immediately and he’s tongue loosened, and he spoke and praised
God.
The scripture is full of examples of supernatural
miracles and even today believers, missionaries, apostles, evangelists can
testify numerous miracles taking place - for Gods glory.
Where you should not seek miracles!
Water divining - Voodoo - Witchcraft etc.
The gift of Faith.
The gift of faith is the most powerful of the three
power gifts - gift of healing - gift of miracles - gift of faith.
There are different kinds of faith.
1)There is saving faith. Saving faith goes before
salvation.
2)There is also natural faith; we believe what we
are told of historical events. And the farmer believes in harvest to come when
he has sown the seed.
3)There is faith as fruit of the spirit. Gal 5:22
Faith the fruit is for character. Gift of faith is for power.
Faith as the fruit of the Spirit can grow (Faith
as a mustard seed), Faith as gift of the faith is a certain portion of faith
given once and forever. It is always there ready to be used. Faith the fruit is
growing in the believer, not so with the gift of faith, but the more it is used
the more is achieved.
Saving faith goes before salvation.
Faith the fruit comes after salvation.
Faith the gift comes after baptism in the Holy
Ghost.
4) Faith as gift of the Spirit is a special portion of
Faith given directly from God. It is God’s faith.
The gift of faith is distinct from the gift of miracles
because: gift of miracles is more active than passive. The gift of faith is more
passive than active and is frequently working over a long period of time,
however, even more powerful in the end.
The gift of faith is a spiritual equipment of the
believer and the minister and covers: blessing and cursing, creation and
destruction, removal or alteration. And more than that.
Gift of miracles is more an immediate act, oftentimes
spectacular. Gift of faith is more of a process over a period of time, but the
result is just as powerful although not so visible and spectacular.
Genesis 17:27 Isaac’s blessing of Jacob (Hebrews. 11:20)
All the nine gifts of the Spirit are operated by faith
(faith as the fruit of the Spirit) even the gift of faith is operated by faith
(the fruit faith) just like all big ships are driven by fuel, even those huge
tankers are moved by fuel.
Faith the fruit is what counts in Gods sight, this is
the kind of faith that honours God and pleases His heart. Gift of faith does
not produce fruits, because it is Gods faith operating through me.
Gift of faith is a portion of faith bestowed upon you, a
portion of Gods faith. It does not grow as Faith the fruit, but this portion of
faith can be used more or less. It is activated by the Faith as fruit.
Some examples from the word of God.
Supernatural blessing:
Isaac’s blessing of Jacob. Gen. 17:28 Hebr.11: 20.
Jacobs blessing of Ephraim and Manasseh
Noah’s prophesy to Cam (Curse also operated by faith)

To raise the dead:
Here more than one gift is in operation. Gifts of the
Spirit sometimes are overlapping. Gift of healing and gift of miracles might be
involved also, when raising the dead. Lazarus, he was sick and healed when he
was raised from the dead.
Finally Faith is the gift employed in casting out
evil spirits.
Faith as a gift and discerning of spirits might work
together here.
There are many examples in the Bible, and even today
this is happening in many ministers and believers lives.
The devil and seducing spirits imitates all the nine
gifts of the Spirit. There is an evil spirit behind every occult practice.
Some of the devils imitations of the gifts of the Holy
Spirit:
Clairvoyance, familiar spirits, crystal ball, fortune
telling, horoscopes, black magic, voodoo, witchcraft, water divination, spell,
hypnosis, etc.

a) BLASPHEMY of the Holy Spirit: Matt.12: 31 All manner
of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men, but the blasphemy against the
Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men.
b) Lying to The Holy Spirit: Acts 5:3,9,10 v3. …Why has
Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit? V.5. …Ananias hearing those
words fell down and gave up his spirit.
13. The Holy Spirit as teacher and Comforter.
a) Holy Spirit teaches: 1.Cor.2: 13. Which things we
also speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy
Spirit teaches.
b) Teaches the disciples everything: John 14:26. But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He
shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said to you.
14. Holy Spirit and conviction of sin:
a) Convincing of sin. John 16:8 and when He is come, He
will REPROVE the world of sin, and righteousness, and of judgement.
The Holy Spirit is the only one who can cause true
conviction of sin. Man’s conscience is part of man’s spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts
man through his CONSCIENCE. The process of conviction of sin is entirely of the
Holy Spirit -by Gods grace.
15. The Holy Spirit and the ministries:
The ministers are equipped with- and administrating
the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The ministers are anointed with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit guides every genuine ministry
The person who carries a ministry is a dwelling
place of the Holy Spirit.
1.Cor.12: 28 God has set some in the church, first
apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that, miracles, then
the gifts of healings. (Evangelistic ministry) helps, (ministry of help)
governments, ministry of governments) diversities of tongues. (Ministering with
giving messages in tongues and then interpretation )
A.) Apostle. Greek: apostolos = "send
out" (by Christ) also in the meaning "send out" as a delegate of
Christ or with the Christ given authority.
B.) Prophet. Greek: prophetes, which means "
one who calls out" or " make known divine will". " Thus
Yahweh has said". In general it might be said that prophets were men or
women believed to be recipients through: vision, or dreams of divine messages
(inspired by the Holy Spirit) that they passed on to others by means of speech
or symbolic action.
C.) Evangelist. Greek: Euaggelistes = one who
announce good news.
D.) Pastor, Shepherd. In Greek 3 words for leaders
of the church is mentioned: Episkopos = Bishop, Poimen =Shepherd (one who take
care of the flock), Prebyteros = elders (always in plural in new Testament.)
E.) Teacher. Greek: Didaskalos = teacher.
F.) The ministry of helping. (Talent in
Administration)
G.) The ministry of governing. (Talent in
Organising)
H.) The deacon. Greek: Diakonos = one who in a
special way was entrusted administration, serve at the tables, love feasts.
I.) Elders. Greek: presbyteroi = elders, which is
not a ministry, is but a mere status in the church. however, any elder might
represent any ministry.
See also: Lesson on the Ministries. (The
fivefold ministries)
16: The anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because
He has ANOINTED me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the
broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight
to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, v.19 to preach the
acceptable year of the Lord.
Jesus Christ was anointed in a special way to preach.
The anointing is the Holy Spirit UPON Him. Every minister of the Lord is
anointed to some degree - more or less. Jesus was the most anointed ever. The
anointing will be seen in the minister’s life. The more devoted the minister is
the more anointed he will be.
17. The infilling of the Holy Spirit. Being filled
with the Spirit
Contrary to the baptism in the Holy Ghost the infilling of
the Spirit of God is a PROCESS. While baptism in the Holy Spirit only happens
once in a man’s lifetime, the infilling can take place again and again. It is a
process. As Paul says in Ephesians 5:18-19 …but be filled with the Spirit. V.19
speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and
making melody in your heart to your Lord. Giving thanks…
One excellent way to be filled with the Spirit of God is
WORSHIP in song and music and in prayer of worship and thanksgiving.
You can pray to be more and more filled with His blessed
Holy Spirit.
The evidence to show that you are filled with the Spirit
will always be the fruits of the Spirit becomes visible in your life.
(See lesson on the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the
four temperaments.)
18. Holy Spirit and prayer of intercession:
a) Gives power in prayer. Rom.8: 26-27 Likewise the
Spirit also helps our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as
we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groaning which
cannot be uttered v. 27 and He that searches the hearts knows what is in the
mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to
the will of God.
19. The Holy Spirit and revival:
Repentance as a result of The Holy Spirit‘s conviction
of sin is the only true and biblical way to revival whether it is a national
revival or revival in an individual person. Every genuine revival is entirely a
result of the influence of Holy Spirit in man. Man’s effort or man organised
revival will come short lasting results and be a very poor substitute for the
work of the Holy Spirit and almost for sure resulting in a 100% backsliders
afterwards when the smoke is gone.
The book of Joel is also the book of revival. Joel 2:23.
…and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the
latter rain….
Joel 2:28-29 and it shall come to pass afterward, that I
will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old man shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions.
V29 and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour
out my Spirit.
The great revival verse, God’s promise of REVIVAL to HIS
people: 2. Chronicle 7:14 …if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Acts 1: 5 for John truly baptised in water, but you
shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.
Acts 1: 8 but you shall receive power, after the
Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me both in
Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the
earth.
The first church and the first revival were based
on the: 1) outpouring of the Holy Spirit, 2) the baptism with the Holy Ghost
and fire, 3) to receive power of the Holy Ghost. That was the model of the
FORMER rain revival.
Gods prescription of revival has never changed. The
latter rain model of revival and building the church are performed by the Holy
Ghost in the same way and by the same means as in the “former rain” revival,
only the latter rain revival outpouring of the Holy Ghost and fire and power
will take proportions never seen before in history. When the former rain was
given moderately, the latter rain is falling in torrent streams. Joel 2:
23-24.
Revival does not happen occasionally or just out
of the blue air. God’s prescription of preparation for revival has never changed. The book of Joel, the revival
prophet, quotes: Joel 2: 12-13 Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn you even
to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with
mourning, v.13 and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the
Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great
kindness, and repent Him of the evil.
Fasting and praying and repenting has always been
unavoidable and primary preparation for genuine Holy Spirit revival.
see also lecture on fasting: Handbook in fasting and
prayer.
see also: Lesson on Conditions of revival, preparations
for revival.
See lesson on Revival principles.
20. The Holy Spirit and Gods Glory, (Shekinah, Kabod,
Gloria.)
The Glory of God Yahweh
John 17: 22 and the Glory which you gave me I have given
them, that they may be one, even as we are one.
Jesus will give His Glory to His redeemed people.
Acts 7:55. But
he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw
the Glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.
Stephen, in the last moments of his life, immediately
before he was killed by the Jews, he saw God’s Glory IN heaven.
Moses and the children of Israel also saw Gods Glory
with their physical eyes.
Exodus 16:7, 10
V.7 and in the morning, then they shall see the Glory of
the Lord, for that He hears your murmurings against the Lord, and what are we,
that you murmur against us? …
v.10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole
congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness,
and, behold, the Glory of the Lord Appeared in the cloud.
Exodus 40:34-35
V34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation,
and the Glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
V.35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of
the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the Glory of the Lord
filled the tabernacle.
See also Exodus 29:43. Leviticus 9:4,6,23. Numbers
14:10,16. Numbers 16:19,42.
Numbers 20:6.
1.Kings 8:10-11. V.10 And it came to
pass, when the priests were come out of the Holy place, that the cloud filled
the house of the Lord, v.11 So that the priests could not stand to minister
because of the cloud: for the Glory of the Lord had filled the house of the
Lord.
2.Chronicles 5:11-14
V.11 and it came to pass, when the priests were come out
of the holy place….
V.12 Also the Levites which were the singers ….With
their sons and there brethren being arrayed with white linen, having cymbals
and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an
hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets
V.13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers
were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord,
and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and
instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, for He is good, for He’s
mercy endures forever, that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the
house of the Lord.
v.14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by
reason of the cloud, for the Glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.
2.Chronicles 7:1-2
V.1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the
fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices,
and the Glory of the Lord filled the house.
V.2 and the priests could not enter into the house of
the Lord, because the Glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house.
Isaiah 58:8
V.8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and
your health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before
you, the Glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.
Isaiah 59:19
V.19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the
west, and His Glory from the rising sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood,
the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him
The Glory of the Lord is - the Spirit of the Lord!
Isaiah 60:1-3
V.1 Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the Glory
of the Lord is risen upon you.
V.2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and
gross darkness the people, but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His Glory
shall be seen upon the.
V.3 and the gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings
to the brightness of thy rising.
Ezekiel 3:23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain,
and, behold, the Glory of the Lord stood there, as the Glory which I saw by the
river of Chebar, and I fell on my face.
Ezekiel
saw the Glory of the Lord:
Ezekiel 1.28 As
the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the
appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the
likeness of the Glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and
I heard a voice of one that spoke.
Ezekiel 8:4 and,
behold, the Glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that
I saw in the plain.
Ezekiel 10:4 Then the Glory of the Lord went up from the
Cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house, and the house was filled with
the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord’s Glory.
Ezekiel 43:2, 4, 5 v.2And, behold, the Glory
of the God of Israel came from the way of the east, and He’s voice was like a
noise of many waters, and the earth shined with He’s Glory…. v.4 And the
Glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is
toward the east. V.5 So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner
court, and, behold, the Glory of the Lord filled the house.
Ezekiel 44:4 The brought He me the way of the north gate
before the house, and I looked, and behold, the Glory of the Lord filled the
house of the Lord, and I fell upon my face.
Scriptures in the New Testament on the Glory of God:
Matthew 17:1-6 and after
six days Jesus takes Peter, James and John his brother, and brings them up into
a high mountain apart, v.2 And was transfigured before His face did shine as
the sun, and His raiment was white as the light. V.3 and behold, there appeared
unto them Moses and Elias talking with Him. V.4 Then answered Peter, and said
to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here, if you will, let us make here
three tabernacles, one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. V.5 While
he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold a voice out
of the cloud, which said. This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased,
hear you Him. V.6 and when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and
were sore afraid.
In Luke’s account we read that the disciples entered
into the cloud. Luke 9:34
Luke 2:8-9. And there were in the same country shepherds
abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. V.9 and lo, the
angel of the Lord came upon them, and the Glory of the Lord shone round about
them, and they were sore afraid.
The Glory shone, and they could see it, with the
physical eye
Stephen is preaching to the Jews:
Acts 7:2 And he, (Stephen) said, men, brethren and
fathers, hearken, the Glory of God appeared unto father Abraham, when he was in
Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran
Stephen saw the Glory of God!
Acts 7:55. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost looked
up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the Glory of God, and Jesus standing on the
right hand of God.
Acts 9:3-4 and as he journeyed (Saul) he came near
Damascus, and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. V.4
and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why
persecutes thou me?
Notice how Saul described it when he related this
experience on two later occasions:
Acts 22:6, 11
And it came to pass, that as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus
about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me…v.11
and when I could not see for the Glory of that light, being led by the hand of
them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
Acts 26:13-14 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a
light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and
them which journeyed with me.
V.14 and when we were all fallen to the earth…
The Glory of the Lord is the Spirit of the Lord:
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism
into death, that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the "Glory of
the Father," even so we also should walk in newness of life.
What is "the Glory of the Father"?
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him that raised Christ
up from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that
dwells in you.
Revelation 15:8. And the temple was filled with
smoke from the Glory of God, and from His power, and no man was able to enter
into the temple….
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the
sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it, for the Glory of the Lord did lighten
it, and the lamb is the light thereof.
Notice how the word of God describes the Glory of God
such as: cloud, bright, brightness, light, shone, smoke and the spirit of God,
although the Glory of God is really indescribable.
David says in the end God will receive him in Glory:
Psalm 73:24 you shall guide me with thy council, and
afterward receive me to Glory.
We are familiar with Peter’s quotation of Joel’s
prophecy on the day of Pentecost:
Acts 2:17-18. And
it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit
upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, and your young
men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. V.18 and on my
servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit, and
they shall prophecy
But notice what He went on to say:
Acts 2:19
V.19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and
signs in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.
Some interprets this as atomic bombs falling on earth,
but this is not what God is talking about. He is proclaiming
an OUTPOURING of His SPIRIT and GLORY.
Blood! - the blood of Jesus!
Fire! - The Holy Ghost is fire! Tongues of fire appeared
and sat upon each of them.
Jesus was taken up into the Cloud, which is the Glory
cloud.
Acts 1:9..While they beheld, He was taken up, and a
CLOUD received HIM out of their sight.
Jesus will return to the earth descending out of the
Glory cloud.
Acts 1:11. …this same Jesus, which is taken up from you
into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven.
God Himself, His Glory, is shining in our hearts.
2.Corinthians 4: 6-7 For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge
of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. v.7 but we have this treasure
in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of
us.
Some of the mystics were literally beholding such
supernatural light in their souls/hearts.
21. Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit:
▪ Gal.5: 22-23 the 9 fruits of the Spirit.
▪ Gal. 5:19-21 the works of the flesh.
▪ Character - the four temperaments.
a) Gal.5: 22-23. but the fruits of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.
Against such there is no law.
The fruits of the Spirit are really what counts in Gods
sight. This fruit in your life builds your true character, makes you fit for
heaven, makes you Christ like.
Love (divine love shed in our hearts by the Spirit)
Joy (The joy of the Lord is your strength)
Peace (Gods peace, not the worlds peace)
Longsuffering
Gentleness
Goodness (God is goodness)
Faith (Faith as a fruit of the Spirit)
Meekness
Temperance (Self-discipline, self-control)
The fruits of the flesh, the works of the flesh:
Gal. 5:19-21: Idolatry - witchcraft - hatred - variance
- emulation - wrath - strife - sedition - heresies - envying - murders -
drunkenness - revelling - and such like.
The opposite of the fruits of the Spirit is:
▪
Love: The
opposite of love is self-love, selfishness, egotism. Basically and universal
there are only two powers or driving forces:
LOVE and SELF-LOVE. God IS love. Satan, Gods adversary, IS self-love.
These are the two basic driving forces in heaven and earth. God Yahweh is the
almighty VICTOR because: John 3:16 God so love the world that He gave His only
begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
▪ Joy:
The opposite of joy as fruit of the Spirit is: the joy in the world,
lust for worldly ,worldly
pleasure,
illegal sex, overeating,
alcohol, drugs etc
▪ Peace:
The opposite of the peace of God is:
Fear, anxiety, the ungodly have no peace says the Lord. Is.48:22
▪ Longsuffering:
Opposite of longsuffering in the Spirit is: Anger, rebellion, hatred.
▪ Gentleness:
Contrary to gentleness in Spirit is: hart hearted, condemning.
self-opinionated
▪ Goodness:
The opposite of goodness as fruit of the Holy Spirit is: being mean, stingy.
▪ Faith: Opposite is: Unbelief, fear. Fear is belief in the
devil more than the promises in Gods word.
▪ Meekness:
The opposite of meekness of Spirit definitely is: Pride, arrogance.
▪ Temperance:
Overeating, no self-discipline in sexual matters, cannot manage money,
always lack of money.
Character - the four temperaments:
a) The Phlegmatic:
b) The Choleric
c) The Melancholy
d) The Sanguine
See also lesson on: The temperaments and the Holy
Spirit.
22.The Holy Spirit and inspiration: Holy Ghost
inspired art, Music, worship in Spirit. Holy Spirit inspired writings.
a) Inspired art:
Exodus 31:3-5 and I have filled him with the Spirit of
God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in ALL MANNER OF
WORKMANSHIP.
V.4 to devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in
silver, and in brass. V.5 and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving
of timber, to work in all manner of WORKMANSHIP.
Exodus 28:3 and thou shall speak unto all that are wise
hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make
Aaron’s garments to consecrate him…
b) Music inspired of the Holy Spirit:
1. Chronicles 25: 1-3
Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of
the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophecy with
harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals. v. 3 …. under the hands of their
father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and praise to the
Lord.
Ephesians 5: 18-19 And be not drunk with, wherein is
excess, but be filled with the Spirit v. 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melodies in your heart to the
Lord.
c) Worship in the Spirit:
John 4: 23-24 but the hour comes, and now is, when the
true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in truth, for the
Father seeks such to worship Him. v.24 God is Spirit and they that worship Him
must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
d) Holy Spirit inspired writings:
2.Timothy 3: 16
Al scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, instruction in righteousness
23.The Holy Spirit and mysticism, true and false.
2.Corinthians 4:6-7 For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the
knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. V.7 but we have this
treasure in earthen vessels…
False mysticism:
All experiences of mysticism, supernatural shining
lights in relation to NON-CHRISTIAN religions are FALSE.
2.Corinthian 11:14 … for Satan himself is transformed
into an angel of light.
24. Seven ways of guidance, by The Holy Spirit:
Through the inner
man
The inner man = Body -
soul - your born again spirit - the Holy Spirit indwelling.
We spend all our
lifetime in the mental realm or the physical realm, and very little time in the
spiritual realm. We must exercise living in the spiritual realm. It takes time
and a lot of exercising to hear that little voice of the Spirit, that inward
witness.
1)Guidance through the
inner man, your Spirit:
Through: Conscience
(voice of the SPIRIT)
Intuition (yes or no
guidance, like Urim and Tummim in the high priests Breast fold)
Inner guidance (that
little red lamp inside of you)
Inner witness (feel
good and peaceful about it - or feeling troubled, reluctant, uneasy or even
alarmed.
2) Guidance through
visions and also dreams inspired of the Holy Spirit.
3) Guidance through
prophecy
4) Guidance through
supernatural audible voice.
These 3 latest points
are all guidance through the gifts of the Spirit:
5) Guidance through
the Word of God, enlightened by the Holy Spirit.
6) Guidance through
life’s circumstances, (Jonah in the storm)
7) Guidance through
prophetic acts, symbolic acts, image acts (Agabus the prophet, Ezekiel the
prophet)
Mathew 18:16 …in the
mouth of two or three witnesses every may be established.
Most secure is the
guidance, when guidance is given two or three times, but on the same subject.
Then off course you
have guidance through ordinary knowledge, ordinary common sense. It is crystal
clear what to do in that specific situation.
Where you should
absolutely NOT seek guidance:
In the spirit in
the glass.
Fortune telling.
Crystal ball.
Horoscopes.
Card reading.
Using pendulum
Water diviner
Séances.
Clairvoyance.
Any occult
practice
Superstition
These above mentioned
are guidance through evil spirits who definitely will MISGUIDE you.
Psychologist and
psychiatrists cannot possibly guide in spiritual matters, because they do not
believe in the Holy Ghost dwelling in man. They do not believe that evil
spirits exists.
Dreams are inspired of three
sources:
1) Inspired of
Holy Spirit. (And therefore can give true guidance)
2) Inspired evil
spirits. (Nightmare etc.)
3) More often our
dreams are an exponent of what we experienced during the previous day or days
before dreaming, and frequently it comes out in an abstract form, in peculiar
ways that cannot give any guidance at all.
True
interpretation of dreams takes the Holy Spirit. To lean on “bright brains” or
human experience is treacherous and you might end up being a victim of lying
spirits.
Daniel
interpreted dreams because Gods Holy Spirit was IN him. Daniel 4:8:9.
Do not seek the
godless for advise in spiritual matters nor guidance for your life and destiny.
25.
Holy Spirit and inspiration of the Word of God:
c) 2. Timothy 3:16 all scripture is given by inspiration
of God (that is by He’s Spirit) ….
The entire Bible, the word of God is inspired of the
Holy Ghost and thus the Bible, Gods word is infallible, complete and
everlasting. Jesus became Logos, the word of God incarnated. God Yahweh, “I AM”
is omniscient, almighty and everlasting.
26. Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ as firstborn only
begotten Son of God Yahweh the Father:
Matthew 12:40 for as Jonas was three days in the whale’s
belly, so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of
the earth (Hades, the Kingdom of death.)
The role of the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ between the
cross and the throne:
Jesus was revived in Hades by the Holy Ghost,
resurrected, ascended to the throne of God and glorified.
1.Peter 3: 18:19 for Christ also has once suffered for
sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to
death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit; v.19 by which (the
Holy Spirit) also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison (in
Hades).
In the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus was quickened
(revived) after He bare the sin of many. Isaiah 53: 10-12
In the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus preached salvation
to all the souls that ever lived on earth from genesis to the death of Christ,
a span of 4000 years, presumably the biggest revival meeting ever in history.
Romans 8: 29 … to be conformed to the image of His Son, that
He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Read also Zechariah 12: 10.
See also lesson
on: The Atonement.
27. Holy Spirit and the Old Testament prophets:
All the Old Testament prophets were operating in
the power and influence of the Holy Spirit.
One exception from the rule is Hananiah. He was
prophesying influenced of lying spirit. Jeremiah 28: 10,12,15.
28. Holy Spirit and the Tabernacle (The Temple):
The seven-armed candlestick in the temple is a symbol of
the Holy Spirit and His manifold manifestations.
29. Holy Spirit and baptism with Holy Ghost AND
with fire:
Luke 3:16 …. He shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost
and with fire.
Acts 2:3-4 and there appeared unto them cloven tongues
like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. V.4 and they were filled with
the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues….
Hebrews 1:7 (Psalm 104:4) … and his ministers as a flame
of fire.
It seems like the second part, the fire part, of the
baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire, is oftentimes left out.
30. The Holy Spirit and preaching the Gospel.
a) The gospel is preached by the Holy Spirit. 1.Peter
1:12. …. which are now reported unto you by them that have preached unto you
WITH the HOLY GHOST sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to
look into.
b) Holy Spirit is preaching. John 16:13-14. Howbeit when
He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth, for He shall
not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak, and He
will show you things to come. V.14 He shall glorify Me, for He shall receive of
mine, and shall show it unto you.
31. Holy Spirit and Genesis.
Genesis 1:2. …and the Spirit of Yahweh moved upon the
face of the waters.
Genesis 1:26. And God said." Let US make man in our
image, after OUR likeness…
US and OUR are the trinity, the Godhead.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit were
present and active at the creation of the world.
32. Holy Spirit and Gods whole Armour, weapons of
attack and weapons of defence.
a) Gods complete Armour. Ephesians 6:11-18. Put on the
whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil v.12. for we wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against the
spiritual wickedness in high places. V.13. Wherefore take unto you the whole
armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having
done all to stand. V.14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with
truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. V.15. and your feed shod
with the preparation of the gospel of peace. V.16. above all, taking the shield
of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked. V.17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God. V.18 praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication
for all saints.
33. The Holy Spirit can be quenched.
1.Thess. 5:19 quench not the Spirit.
34. The Holy Spirit and supernatural strength.
Samson. Judges 14:5-6 … a young lion roared against him.
V.6 and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him and he rent him as he
would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand…
35.The Holy Spirit and being borne again. (Salvation)
John 3:5-6… except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Verse 6. That which is born of
flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Salvation does not depend on water baptism but being
born again of the Spirit.
36.The Holy Ghost and our human spirit.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself bear witness with OUR
SPIRIT, that we are the children of God.
There is a difference between The Holy Spirit and our
human spirit.
37. The Holy Spirit and true UNITY.
John 17: 22 and
the Glory which you gave Me I have given
them; that they may be one, even as we are one.
Unity in the church, unity amongst believers, are
not found in human efforts, not a result of organisations and networks, cannot
be figured out in human brains, but genuine, true unity is entirely of the Holy
Ghost in the hearts of believers.
38. The Holy Spirit and the Spirit of prayer
Zechariah 12: 10. And I will pour out upon the house of
David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, THE SPIRIT OF GRACE AND
SUPLICATIONS; and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they
shall mourn for him.
There is given a special portion of the Spirit of grace
and supplication to be poured out upon the church. The prophecy is
concerning the time after Jesus Christ was crucified and pierced. Jesus Christ
the only begotten Son became the firstborn amongst many brethren. See also Romans 8: 29.
See also lesson on: Prayer of the believer.
39. The Holy Spirit and worship.
John 4: 23 but the hour come, and now is, when the
true worshippers shall worship the Father IN SPIRIT and in truth; for the
Father seeks such to worship Him.
True worship in the Holy Spirit is the most sublime
expression of love and adoration to the Father and the Son.
When the congregation is singing with the Spirit, that
singing hymns to the Lord our God, the church is worshipping God the almighty in one accord. See also
1.Cor. 14: 15.
There is no higher purpose in the universe than to
worship Him in the Spirit
